Mike Shank began his professional racing career in 1989, competing in various open-wheel series before advancing to the Indy Racing League. He later transitioned from driver to team owner, building a successful Toyota Atlantic program before expanding into sports car racing.

Shank moved his team into sports car competition in 2004, establishing what would become one of the most successful programs in IMSA. Under his leadership, MSR has earned three IMSA championships and major endurance victories, including three Rolex 24 At Daytona wins and two Petit Le Mans victories.

After making its Indianapolis 500 debut in 2017, MSR expanded into full-time INDYCAR competition. Shank celebrated his first Indianapolis 500 victory as a team owner in 2021, when Hélio Castroneves captured his historic fourth win at the Brickyard. The team added another Indy 500 victory in 2026 with Felix Rosenqvist.

Jim Meyer joined Michael Shank Racing as co-owner in April 2018, helping usher in a new era for the team under the Meyer Shank Racing name. A longtime Indianapolis 500 attendee and passionate motorsports enthusiast, Meyer fulfilled a lifelong dream of becoming directly involved in the sport.

Meyer previously served as CEO of SiriusXM from 2013 until his retirement in 2020, following nearly a decade with the company in senior leadership roles. He remains a member of the SiriusXM Board of Directors and brings decades of executive leadership experience in the consumer electronics and entertainment industries to MSR.  Meyer has been alongside Mike for the two Indianapolis 500 wins and two Rolex 24 victories.

MaryBeth Shank

Vice President

MaryBeth serves as Vice President of Meyer Shank Racing and is also the wife to Michael Shank. MaryBeth (“MB”) has been an integral part of the Meyer Shank Racing team since its inception in the late 90s. Although working mostly behind the scenes, MaryBeth works daily out of the MSR headquarters in Pataskala, Ohio, leading the charge on all things logistics and operations.
