Meyer Shank Racing Ready for Canadian Charge

Markham, Ontario (Aug. 15, 2026) – Qualifying is complete for the inaugural Ontario Honda Dealers Indy at Markham, with Meyer Shank Racing (MSR) drivers Felix Rosenqvist and Marcus Armstrong set to start Sunday’s race from P18 and P25 respectively.

With the NTT INDYCAR SERIES making its first appearance on the new 12-turn, 2.19-mile temporary street circuit, teams and drivers faced the challenge of learning the track in the two practice sessions that all took place on Saturday due to the delayed track build. Rosenqvist and Armstrong both showed promising pace, but were unable to advance out of the opening round of qualifying.

Armstrong qualified 22nd, but will start 25th after incurring a six-place grid penalty for an unapproved engine change.

Rosenqvist will ride aboard the No. 60 SiriusXM Canada Honda, featuring Three Days Grace and SiriusXM Octane (Ch. 37), while Armstrong in the No. 66 SiriusXM Canada Honda sports a special Rolling Stone Canada livery.

With qualifying behind them, MSR now turns its attention to racing forward in Sunday’s 90-lap event. The Ontario Honda Dealers Indy at Markham takes the green flag Sunday at 12:00 p.m. ET on FOX, with INDYCAR Radio providing live coverage on SiriusXM Channel 218.

Felix Rosenqvist: "It was a mix of lacking performance and I also didn’t do the best lap of my life. The two things are probably a little bit connected and we just don’t really feel good with the car. Maybe I could have transferred, but I think everyone else had a little bit more in the pocket. So, that’s all we had and we just haven’t really found the pace. We’ll keep working at it for tomorrow."

Marcus Armstrong: “Tricky qualifying today. Not really happy with the car and we got very unlucky with the red flags. We had a decent lap going and a red came out. Tomorrow was going to be tough anyway with our grid penalty. But we’ve made big moves before and we can do it again."
