Madison, IL (June 6, 2026) – Qualifying is complete for the Bommarito Automotive Group 500 at World Wide Technology Raceway (WWTR), with both Meyer Shank Racing drivers qualifying in the top ten with solid runs. At this oval event, drivers qualify one at a time, with the starting lineup set by their average speed over a two-lap run. Felix Rosenqvist locked in a second-row starting spot with a fourth-place qualifying run, while Marcus Armstrong qualifiedsixth and will follow his teammate from the third row.
Both MSR drivers have found pace on ovals lately, with Rosenqvist recently winning the Indianapolis 500 and Armstrong having five of nine short oval top-tens for MSR, including a podium in Iowa last year. Drivers and teams have one more chance to fine-tune their setups during tonight's final practice session at the St. Louis-area short oval.
The Bommarito Automotive Group 500 is the ninth round of the 2026 NTT INDYCAR SERIES season and the first night race of the season. The 260-lap race on the 1.25-mile oval will air live Sunday, June 7 at 9:00 p.m. ET on FOX, with INDYCAR Radio providing coverage on SiriusXM channel 218.
Meyer Shank Racing Driver Quotes:
Felix Rosenqvist: “Solid run for us here and I think we improved a lot from last year. That was kind of the target going in. Unfortunately we didn't get the pole. But good execution and the car felt really good from practiceonward. Proud of the whole team and the car looks really cool with the Bombastic Radio livery with Shaggy. So, we're excited to get into race mode!
Marcus Armstrong: “Wasn't my cleanest run in the world, but happy we're starting in the ballpark for tomorrow. Going to be fun and hopefully it will be dry so we can get in the whole race. We've got something left in the tank for sure, so I'm ready to get racytomorrow.
