Meyer Shank Racing Maximizes Results in Caution-Free Mid-Ohio Race

Lexington, Ohio (July 5, 2026) – Meyer Shank Racing (MSR) made the most of a challenging weekend at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, bringing both cars home cleanly in a rare caution-free Honda Indy 200, with Felix Rosenqvist finishing 13th and Marcus Armstrong charging from 24th to 14th.
With all 90 laps completed under green flag conditions, strategy and tire management became the defining factors of the afternoon as teams looked to maximize performance with the two tire compounds and pit strategies.
Starting 13th in the No. 60 SiriusXM Honda - featuring a tribute to Ozzy Osbourne and Ozzy's Boneyard (ch. 38) also showcasing Zakk Wylde's Black Label Society - Rosenqvist remained steady in the early stages of the race. As competitors who started on alternate tires peeled off for early pit stops, Rosenqvist climbed as high as sixth while extending his opening stint on the primary tires.
Rosenqvist made his first stop on Lap 26 for a set of alternate tires, though a slight delay with the fuel probe cost some time in pit lane. Despite the setback, the Swedish driver continued to maximize the pace available and remained in the fight throughout the afternoon, ultimately crossing the line in the same position from which he started.
Armstrong's afternoon told a different story after the New Zealander lined up 24th following a difficult qualifying session on Saturday. The No. 66 Acura Honda steadily worked forward through the field in the opening stint and, like his teammate, benefitted from extending the life of his primary tires as others around him opted for earlier stops.
After making his first stop on Lap 28 for alternate tires, Armstrong continued to capitalize on the strategy, stretching the life of the soft compound red tires longer than many of his competitors and climbing as high as sixth before his second stop on Lap 42. The strategy helped the recently re-signed MSR driver gain significant track position and ultimately deliver the biggest charge through the field, advancing 10 positions and earning the Josten's biggest mover award.
Following Mid-Ohio, Rosenqvist remains seventh in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES championship standings, while Armstrong sits in 11th heading into the next round of the season.
The team will now shift focus to oval racing as the series heads to Nashville Superspeedway for the Borchetta Bourbon Music City Grand Prix on July 18-19.
Meyer Shank Racing Driver Quotes:
Felix Rosenqvist: “A P13 today and the 'ole baker's dozen. We lost some time due to an issue with the fuel probe and we were probably looking at a top ten before that. Then we weren't very good on the reds andhad to pit early. So we just sat in 13th the whole race and not much action for ultimately an average day."
Marcus Armstrong: “Biggest mover, but guess that means we qualified poorly. Strange weekend. I wish I had an answer as to why we were super fast at Road America and then super not fast here in Mid-Ohio. We did what we could today, passed as many cars as we could, and the team did a great job on pit lane."
