Meyer Shank Racing Heads West for 2026 INDYCAR Season Finale

Pataskala, Ohio (Sept. 2, 2026) – Meyer Shank Racing (MSR) heads west to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca this weekend for the Mission Foods Grand Prix of Monterey, the 2026 NTT INDYCAR SERIES season finale and the fifth race in five consecutive weekends.

The 95-lap race will take place on the challenging 2.238-mile, 11-turn road course, best known for its iconic Corkscrew and six-story drop in just 450 feet. Laguna Seca marks a return to road-course racing following last weekend’s oval doubleheader at the Milwaukee Mile.

Felix Rosenqvist enters the season finale ninth in the championship standings while Marcus Armstrong heads to California after a P9 finish in Race 1 of the Milwaukee doubleheader last weekend.

Rosenqvist has two top-five finishes in six starts at Laguna Seca, including a best finish of fourth in 2022 and pole position in 2023. The Swede has collected 12 top-five finishes and seven podiums on road courses and will close out the season in the No. 60 SiriusXM Honda featuring Nickelback and SiriusXM Octane (Ch. 37).

Armstrong has top-ten finishes in two of his three Laguna Seca starts, finishing a career-best eighth in both 2023 and 2025. The New Zealander has finished inside the top 10 in seven of his 11 road-course starts with MSR and was destined for his first INDYCAR victory at Road America earlier this season before an engine failure ended his race in the closing laps. Armstrong will pilot the No. 66 REMAX Honda.

MSR’s best finish at Laguna Seca came last season with Armstrong’s eighth-place result, while Rosenqvist delivered the team’s best qualifying effort at the circuit with a third-place start in 2024.

Qualifying for the Mission Foods Grand Prix of Monterey airs Saturday at 4:30 p.m. ET on FS2, with the 95-lap season finale set for Sunday at 2:30 p.m. ET on FOX. INDYCAR Radio will provide live coverage on SiriusXM channel 190.
