Meyer Shank Racing Closes INDYCAR Season with Two Top-Seven Finishes at Laguna Seca

Monterey, Calif. (Sept. 6, 2026) – Meyer Shank Racing (MSR) closed out the 2026 NTT INDYCAR SERIES season with a strong two-car result at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, as Felix Rosenqvist finished fourth and Marcus Armstrong seventh in Sunday’s Mission Foods Grand Prix of Monterey.

Rosenqvist started third in the No. 60 SiriusXM Honda featuring Nickelback and SiriusXM’s Octane (Ch. 37), while Armstrong took the green flag from eighth in the No. 66 REMAX Honda. Both drivers started on Firestone alternate tires and settled into the top 10 through an early full-course caution on Lap 1.

With the remainder of the 95-lap race running caution-free, strategy and tire management became the focus for both MSR cars. Rosenqvist remained in the fight at the front, running as high as third before making his first stop on Lap 21. Armstrong stretched his opening stint two laps longer, giving him fresher tires as the race moved through its first pit cycle.

Both drivers remained firmly inside the top 10 through the middle stages of the race before making their final stops with just over 20 laps remaining. Rosenqvist switched to a final set of primary tires, while Armstrong went to the alternate tires for his run to the finish.

Rosenqvist continued to close in the final stint and made a late pass for fourth with six laps remaining to secure his third top-five finish at Laguna Seca. Armstrong held seventh through the closing laps to give MSR two cars inside the top seven at the checkered flag.

Nickelback, featured on Rosenqvist’s No. 60 SiriusXM Honda throughout the weekend, also served as Grand Marshal for Sunday’s season finale and bassist Mike Kroeger led the field and rode in the Fastest Seat in sports on Sunday. 

The race marked Rosenqvist’s final start with MSR after three seasons with the team, a run highlighted by his victory in the 2026 Indianapolis 500. Rosenqvist finishes the season ninth in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES championship standings, while Armstrong closes out the year 14th.

While the INDYCAR season is complete, MSR still has two races remaining on its 2026 race calendar with the Acura Meyer Shank Racing GTP program. The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship heads next to Indianapolis Motor Speedway before closing out the season at Motul Petit Le Mans at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.
