Blomqvist on Pole for Petit, Yelloly Locks Out Front Row
Braselton, Ga (October 2, 2026) – Acura Meyer Shank Racing (Acura MSR) will lead the field to green for Saturday’s Motul Petit Le Mans after locking out the front row in qualifying at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta. Tom Blomqvist put the No. 60 Acura ARX-06 on pole, while Nick Yelloly secured the second starting position in the No. 93.
Blomqvist delivered a 1:09.703-second lap to claim his second consecutive pole after also starting from the top spot at Indianapolis Motor Speedway two weeks ago. The result marks his eighth career pole in IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship competition and his third at Road Atlanta.
The pole is also the second consecutive at Petit Le Mans for Blomqvist, who set the GTP track record at the circuit during qualifying last year. Friday’s result marked the 15th pole for the Acura ARX-06.
Yelloly came within two-tenths of his teammate, posting a 1:09.925-second lap to complete the all-Acura MSR front row. The No. 93 enters the season finale second in the GTP team championship and will share the 10-hour race with Renger van der Zande and reigning INDYCAR Champion Alex Palou.
Blomqvist will share the pole-sitting No. 60 with Colin Braun and Scott Dixon. Blomqvist and Braun are both previous Petit Le Mans winners with Acura MSR, including a victory together in 2023, as the team looks to close out the Acura MSR GTP program with a fifth Petit Le Mans victory.
Saturday’s Motul Petit Le Mans takes the green flag at 12:10 p.m. ET. NBC will carry the opening three hours beginning at noon, followed by NBCSN from 3-10:30 p.m., with flag-to-flag coverage on Peacock. International coverage is available through IMSA.tv and IMSA’s Official YouTube channel, with IMSA Radio on SiriusXM channel 206.

Driver Quotes:
Tom Blomqvist (No. 60): “So awesome and super happy with the result to get one-two for the team and pole position. Great job by everyone at MSR and HRC. We didn't have the best day yesterday, but we knew the car’s potential was there. We knew we had good pace for qualifying and it was just about executing. It was a team effort.”
Nick Yelloly (No. 93): “P1 and P2 for the Acura Meyer Shank Racing crew here today at Road Atlanta. It was a great qualifying result as we see this program come to an unfortunate end. Tom did a great lap and got the pole there. I thought I had it, but then I saw him pop up on the last lap. Great job by him. I’m happy to be starting second and in front of a lot of the competition. We scored more good points, and now we can try and control the race as best as we can from there.”
