Pataskala, Ohio (June 24, 2026) – Acura Meyer Shank Racing (Acura MSR) returns to Watkins Glen International this weekend for the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen, Round 6 of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Sunday’s six-hour endurance race on the historic 3.4-mile, 11-turn road course will be live flag-to-flag on Peacock beginning at 12:00 p.m. ET.
Acura MSR enters the weekend as the defending winners of the event after Tom Blomqvist and Colin Braun delivered a dramatic victory for the No. 60 Acura ARX-06 one year ago, stretching their fuel and energy to the final lap with just 1% energy left at the finish line. The win marked the team’s first overall triumph at Watkins Glen, where MSR has amassed three victories, eight podium finishes, four poles and 25 top-ten finishes across IMSA competition.
The No. 93 Acura ARX-06 of Nick Yelloly and Renger van der Zande arrives third in the GTP championship standings after a highlight victory at Long Beach and three additional top-five finishes. Joined once again this weekend by Honda Racing Corporation development driver Kaku Ohta, the trio was in contention for victory at Watkins Glen last season before a late fuel stop interrupted their strategy.
Watkins Glen has been a strong track for the Acura MSR drivers in recent years. Van der Zande earned pole position for the event in 2025 and currently holds the GTP qualifying record at the circuit (1:31.558), while Blomqvist owns the previous DPi track record set in 2022 with MSR (1:29.580). In addition, Blomqvist has recorded podium finishes in each of his three Watkins Glen starts with Acura MSR. Individually, Braun has recorded two victories and six podium finishes at WGI, van der Zande has two wins and five podiums, and Yelloly also brings winning experience with a 2023 victory.
Acura MSR continues to carry momentum across its motorsports programs in 2026. Along with the IMSA effort, the team is enjoying a strong NTT INDYCAR SERIES campaign highlighted by Felix Rosenqvist’s Indianapolis 500 victory, as well as eight top-ten finishes so far this season.
Qualifying for the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen streams live on Peacock on Saturday, June 27 at 3:30 p.m. ET. International viewers are able to watch via IMSA.TV and IMSA’s Official YouTube channel. Live IMSA Radio coverage will also be available throughout the weekend on SiriusXM channel 206.
Driver Quotes:
Renger van der Zande (No. 93): “Normally, Watkins Glen is a pretty good track for our car, so I have hopes we can be competitive. Obviously last year the 60 car won with a fuel advantage at the end of the race, and maybe this year it’s all open again. Watkins Glen is normally where weather plays into the strategy, with some proper summer rains that can influence the strategy quite a bit. Last year, I had the joy of taking pole position, which was a great moment for me in 2025.
Colin Braun (No. 60): “Excited for this one. Of course, winning last year always puts us in a good mindset. This track suits our Acura platform and I think the longer events play to the strengths of the MSR engineers and crew. It’s always an intense battle with the flowing and fast nature of the track. Combine the traffic and the race length, and every lap is balancing risk versus reward.”
