Acura MSR Eager to Bring Home Another Street Course Win

Pataskala, Ohio (May 27, 2026) – Acura Meyer Shank Racing (Acura MSR) heads to the streets of Detroit as the defending champions for this weekend’s Round 5 of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Saturday’s 100 minute race on the 1.654-mile temporary street course will be broadcast on Peacock at 4:00 p.m. ET. 

Last year’s Detroit Sports Car Classic delivered a thrilling finish in the top-tier GTP class, as the No. 93 Acura ARX-06 driven by Renger van der Zande secured victory after a decisive pass with just three minutes remaining. His teammate Nick Yelloly had secured the pole a day earlier. 

Both Acura MSR entries come into the event with solid finishes at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in early May, where the No. 60 Acura ARX-06 driven by Tom Blomqvist and Colin Braun secured their second P4 of the season. 

In April, Yelloly and van der Zande delivered a commanding pole-to-checkered victory at the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach, marking the team’s second win on a temporary street circuit, and the first win of the 2026 season. 

Meyer Shank Racing’s INDYCAR team is fresh off a historic Indianapolis 500 victory last Sunday. A once-in-a-lifetime finish became reality as driver Felix Rosenqvist etched his name into Indianapolis 500 history with the closest finish ever recorded — a breathtaking 0.0233-second victory that delivered MSR its second Indy 500 win.

In addition to Saturday’s flag-to-flag coverage, Peacock will also broadcast Qualifying on Friday, May 29 at 4:45 p.m. ET. All sessions can be found globally on IMSA’s official YouTube Channel, and heard on SiriusXM Channel 206. IMSA’s Detroit Sports Car Classic is a part of the Detroit Grand Prix weekend, with the INDYCAR race taking place on Sunday.
