Detroit, Mich. (May 30, 2026) - Acura Meyer Shank Racing (Acura MSR) experienced all the ups and downs that the streets of Detroit have to offer. Detroit Qualifying Highlights
-
Starting third, Yelloly made an impressive move on the inside from third to second

Starting sixth, Blomqvist sustained rear damage from contact on Lap 1 but made it until Lap 25 until pitting.

The 93 Acura was among the first of the GTP cars to pit and avoid on-track traffic but ultimately paid the price as the overcut was the more beneficial strategy. The No. 93 Acura fell outside of the top five.
-
van der Zande raced through two caution periods at the end of the race and brought home the No. 93 Acura home fourth.
-
Following the first pit stop to replace the rear wing, the No. 60 Acura fell to as low as 11th and raced its way up to a seventh place finish at the checkered.
Acura Meyer Shank Racing Driver Quotes:
Nick Yelloly: “P4 at the end. I think with how the pit stop cycle went and our pace, we can be quite happy with that. We kept it clean, we got all the points that we could today. We will all bounce back in Watkins Glen I’m sure. Great work from everyone as always and good points towards the championship.”
Renger van der Zande: “We were very lucky to be P4 today, I don’t think we had the pace to really fight for a win, and we’ll have to look back on why that was. We had quite a big deg and I think that is biting us a lot. We’re strong in the beginning of the race and then we struggle from there. We can be very happy with fourth place at the end of the day.”
Tom Blomqvist: “It was just kind of an average race for us. It was unfortunate to get hit on the first lap which gave us damage, so we had to take a mechanical repair for that and it was going to be difficult from there. Really we were just doing what we could to recover spots for the rest of the race, which is pretty difficult to do at this track. At the end of the day we finished seventh, which I wish was a better result. I think we’re all looking forward to Watkins Glen.”
Colin Braun: “It was a challenging day and obviously not the start that we wanted which forced us into a not-so-ideal strategy. The guys on the 93 side got some good manufacturer points. I’m looking forward to going to Watkins Glen which I think will be a good race for us.”
