Acura Meyer Shank Racing Brings Home the Win at Their Home Grand Prix

Long Beach, Calif. (April 18, 2026) - After starting at the pointy end of the field in Saturday's Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach, Acura Meyer Shank Racing (Acura MSR) never looked back, with Nick Yelloly and Renger van der Zande finishing P1 with the No. 93 Acura ARX-06.

After securing pole yesterday, Yelloly led the field to green and was in command for the opening laps. He briefly lost the lead while navigating GT traffic, but by staying out longer and benefiting from the timing of a full-course caution, the No. 93 was able to reclaim the lead once the pit stop sequence played out. Van der Zande faced some pressure in the final stints, but managed to hold strong for the win.

Tom Blomqvist and Colin Braun had their work ahead of them after starting from back of the GTP class after missing qualifying due to an incident in practice. But quick pit work and strong strategy brought the No. 60 Acura ARX-06 through the field to finish P7.

The No. 60 crew worked hard to swap to a back-up chassis - which was the team chassis that won on the streets of Detroit in 2025 - for the start of Saturday's 100-minute sprint.

With Acura celebrating its 40th anniversary and the No. 93 running a special orange and blue 76 livery - the race result was a welcome celebration for the home event for Acura.

The next round of IMSA action will stay on the west coast with the Stubhub Monterey Sports Car Championship at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca on May 5th.

Acura Meyer Shank Racing Driver Quotes:

Nick Yelloly: "Awesome to be winners at our home race and everyone has been wanting that for a long time. Obviously getting on the pole yesterday was most of the battle, since it’s so hard to pass here. Then keeping it clean in the race was important and the whole team and crew did everything right. Really happy for all of Meyer Shank Racing, HRC and Acura."

Renger van der Zande: "Fantastic job by the whole team the whole week. We know this car pretty well by now and we didn’t panic when we have a bit of trouble with the set-up in practice. We let the track come towards us. The no-tire-change pit stop strategy is the one to go with. We all did a great job to get this done, so very happy for the entire family of HRC, MSR and Acura."

Tom Blomqvist: "First of all, congrats to the sister car and it’s been a long time coming to get the win here at the home Grand Prix. But huge thanks to our guys who had a very late night rebuilding our car and it’s because of them we were able to get out there today. It’s a short race, so there’s not much you can do from the back. But making up a few positions is always a good feeling."

Colin Braun: "Obviously the guys did a great job and worked super hard to get the 60 car built for the race today. Yesterday was not the day we wanted to have, but strategy-wise we maximized what we could today. This place is tough to pass, so we’re pleased to move up the positions we did after the effort those guys put in. Awesome for the 93 guys to get the win and really happy for HRC and Acura."
