Acura Meyer Shank Racing Battles at Road America

Elkhart Lake, Wis. (Aug. 2, 2026) – Acura Meyer Shank Racing (Acura MSR) experienced mixed fortunes in Sunday's Motul SportsCar Endurance Grand Prix at Road America, with the No. 60 battling through repeated damage while the No. 93 remained in contention throughout the inaugural six-hour race. 

After locking out the front row in qualifying, Nick Yelloly led the field from pole in the No. 93 Acura ARX-06 with Tom Blomqvist lining up alongside in the No. 60. The pair controlled the opening hour before the first round of pit stops introduced varying strategies across the GTP field. Following that opening stop, the No. 93 was assessed a drive-through penalty for a pit lane speed violation, dropping the car back in the running order while the No. 60 ran in the top three.

Over the next several hours, both Acura entries remained firmly in contention as the race settled into a rhythm. Colin Braun completed his stint aboard the No. 60, while the No. 93 rotated between Renger van der Zande and Yelloly as the team steadily worked its way back toward the front.

Following a restart with approximately two hours and 40 minutes remaining, the No. 60 sustained front-end damage while Blomqvist was behind the wheel. Despite the compromised handling, the Brit held onto fourth position until the next full-course caution allowed the team to replace the damaged nose during a scheduled pit stop.

Meanwhile, the No. 93 quietly recovered from its earlier setback, climbing back into podium contention before another caution and pit sequence shuffled the Acura back to fifth as several competitors elected to short-fill on fuel.

Misfortune struck the No. 60 once again with just over 90 minutes remaining when contact on another restart damaged the rear wing, forcing an additional stop for repairs and ending the team's charge toward the front.

With just under an hour remaining, the No. 93 came to pit lane for four tires and fuel, giving van der Zande a fresh set of rubber for the closing stages of the race. When a full-course caution flew roughly 15 minutes later, the No. 93 benefited from having already completed its stop, moving back into fourth for the final run to the checkered flag.

In the closing minutes, Blomqvist went off track and sustained additional damage to the No. 60, bringing out a full-course caution and ending Blomqvist's race early. van der Zande remained in the fight on the ensuing restart before another incident behind him triggered a second full-course caution. The race ultimately finished under yellow with the No. 93 Acura securing a fourth place finish.

The No. 93 remains P2 in the GTP championship standings and P4 in the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup standings.

Nick Yelloly (No. 93): " “We salvaged a semi-good result after dealing with a few things throughout the race. We picked up the pieces and we were able to finish fourth in what was quite a chaotic race. I think we were able to maximize the package that we had in the end. Great job from the team as always and we’ll keep trucking along to Indy.” 

Renger van der Zande (No. 93): “It was a crazy day. We lost the torque sensors, so we had to turn down power, and from there on we were sitting ducks. We had a good car and it drove well and the team did a really nice job. We learned something at the test and it was really useful during the race. Today if we made it onto the podium it would have been like a victory because we didn’t have much fighting power. All things considered, I think we should be happy with where we ended up.”

Tom Blomqvist (No. 60): “Another tough day in the office for us. Got shuffled back a bit after a few others short-filled at the first pit stop. Making contact because we were out of position just made our race really difficult. And then I made a mistake there at the end, that one was on me. It was just a bad day, unfortunately.”

Colin Braun (No. 60): “Obviously tough day for us. Things were great after qualifying and then it just didn’t translate into the finish that we wanted. We have a couple more races to finish the season strong. We’ll rebuild and then hit the ground running in Indy.”
