Madison, IL (14 June 2025) – Meyer Shank Racing continued its recent strong qualifying form on the NTT INDYCAR SERIES oval tracks today, putting both of its drivers in the top 10 for the fourth time in the last five series oval races.

Qualifying later in the session due to their standing in the top 10 of the series points, the MSR Hondas ran two trips around the 1.25-mile World Wide Technology Raceway (WWTR) oval and were only separated by .058mph in earning the sixth and seventh spots for Sunday night’s Bommarito Automotive Group 500. (8 p.m. ET, FOX)

Both drivers scored their fifth top-10 starting positions of the year today, led by Marcus Armstrong (No. 66 Spectrum Honda) who qualified sixth with a two-lap average speed of 178.754mph. Armstrong’s best starting spot since he started fourth in the season opener, gives the New Zealand-born driver a chance to maintain his place in the top 10 spot in the Championship, a position built on the strength of three top-10 results in the last six races.

Felix Rosenqvist (No. 60 SiriusXM Honda) is tied for fifth in the series standings heading into tomorrow’s 260-lap event. Rosenqvist posted the fastest lap of the MSR duo today, stopping the clocks at 25.1003sec / 179.281mph on his second qualifying lap to boost his two-lap average to 178.696mph, good enough for seventh in the 27-car field.

Since their first start on the Gateway oval in 2020, MSR drivers have earned a pair of top-10 finishes, with Rosenqvist’s sixth-place finish a year ago standing as the high mark.

The event weekend covers just two days on the oval, and features a rare post-qualifying practice session which can be seen live on FS2 at 8:15 p.m. Sunday’s 260-lap Bommarito Automotive Group 500 gets underway at 8 p.m. on Sunday night and can be seen live on FOX. Sirius XM Radio will also carry live coverage of all sessions on IndyCar Radio, XM Ch. 218.

Meyer Shank Racing Driver Quotes:

Marcus Armstrong: “It was a stable run and the car was really good. I have never done a short oval qualy and not wanted more when I got out of the car. The car was mega and it felt really, really strong. I just didn’t get the most from it and was one of those runs you wish you could do again. But overall happy with our position and the No. 66 Spectrum Honda will be ready to race tomorrow.”

Felix Rosenqvist: “Pretty clean run and no big mistakes. But always more you can get, especially on the first lap. I think that’s where I lacked a bit, but the second lap was pretty competitive. It was a pretty good day for me and Marcus, and happy to be the top Hondas in Qualifying. The race is completely different and I’m looking forward to high-line practice tonight. I truly think the high-line works here and I hope we can get some two-lane racing for the No. 60 SiriusXM Honda.”
