Indianapolis, Ind (9 May 2025) – Friday saw a jam packed day for Meyer Shank Racing’s (MSR) two-car lineup at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course in preparation for Saturday’s Sonsio Grand Prix (4:30pm ET, FOX SiriusXM channel 218).

The day closed out with a late afternoon qualifying session which saw Felix Rosenqvist put the No. 60 SiriusXM Honda on the sixth row in 12th while Marcus Amstrong lining up 15th for Saturday’s 85 lap race.

Both MSR machines were staged in the first group of qualifying with the group split on strategy on Firestone tire compounds. Rosenqvist and Armstrong both took the green flag on the primary tire and switched over to the softer red-walled tire midway through the session. Rosenqvist posted the third fastest time in the Group 1, advancing him to the next round while Armstrong settled with a P15 starting position.

The top 12 qualifying saw Rosenqvist fighting for the Firestone Fast Six in the waning moments, but an untimely off on the final lap saw him finish 12th in the order.

With the stage now set, all eyes turn to Saturday’s Sonsio Grand Prix as the team prepares to take on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course all leading into Indianapolis 500 prep early next week.

Meyer Shank Racing Driver Quotes:

Felix Rosenqvist:Seems like we found a little bit of pace from practice and had a pretty good Q1. Q2 got a little bit awkward and I had someone slow down in front of me, so I had to either finish that lap – which was kind of average – or go for another. When I went for another one I messed up in Turn 7 and locked up. Kind of bummed I didn’t get a lap together so we’re P12; I thought we were a bit quicker than that. But we have a pretty decent squad for tomorrow.”

Marcus Armstrong: “It’s a shame to be so close to the top six [in Group 1] and not advance. The positive side is that we definitely have a better race car than what we showed in qualifying. So, we’ll see what happens tomorrow. We’re in a position to move forward in the race.”
