Sebring, Fla. (18 March 2022) – Meyer Shank Racing will start from the outside of the third row for Saturday’s 70th anniversary running of the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring on Saturday (10:00am ET, Peacock).
Tom Blomqvist was sixth fastest with a lap of 1:46.249-seconds in the Rolex 24 At Daytona-winning No. 60 Meyer Shank Racing with Curb-Agajanian AutoNation / SiriusXM Acura-05 DPi.
Oliver Jarvis and Stoffel Vandoorne will share driving duties in the American endurance classic. Jarvis will be seeking an unprecedented fourth consecutive endurance triumph in Michelin Endurance Cup competition, having won the 2021 races at Watkins Glen and Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta last year along with the Rolex 24 Hours with MSR earlier this year.
“It’s definitely not where we would have liked to qualify, but so much can happen in 12 hours,” said Blomqvist. “We had a pretty decent car to the weekend finishing practice 1 in second, but unfortunately we had to miss the second practice for an engine change, so that set us back a little. The guys did a great job to get the car turned around. We made a few changes after the final practice this morning and I just couldn’t really get the balance of the car to where I wanted it. I know the guys will work hard to prepare the car for the race tomorrow.”
Round 2 of the 2022 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship takes the green flag at 10:10 a.m. ET Saturday at Sebring International Raceway. The race will be streamed live on NBC’s Peacock, beginning at 10 a.m., with USA Network joining the coverage from 3:30-10:30 p.m. The race will also be broadcast live on SiriusXM Channel 202.
