Indianapolis, Ind. (7 May 2025) Meyer Shank Racing (MSR) is back in action this weekend for round five of the 2025 NTT INDYCAR SERIES season with the Sonsio Grand Prix on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course (May 10 1, 4:30pm ET, FOX, SiriusXM channel 218).
With the Month of May officially underway, MSR returns to the familiar 2.439-mile, 14-turn road course layout at IMS with its full-time entries — Marcus Armstrong, driver of the No. 66 SiriusXM / Root Insurance Honda, and Felix Rosenqvist, driver of the No. 60 SiriusXM Honda.
The IMS road course is a track that holds positive memories and results for MSR with the team scoring its first-ever INDYCAR SERIES podium finish in its IMS road course debut in 2019. The following season MSR was just two-tenths shy of qualifying on the pole, but marked the first time that an MSR car started on the front row in INDYCAR competition. In addition, MSR came back in 2022 to nearly win a rain-soaked Indy GP, with Simon Pagenaud finishing second.
Rosenqvist heads into the weekend with a strong track record at the Indy road course, having scored pole position in 2022 and four top-ten finishes throughout his career. This will mark his seventh start on the layout, where his speed in qualifying has frequently translated into front-running pace on race day. The Swede and MSR will be looking to build on that foundation as the team continues its strong early-season form.
Armstrong made his debut on the IMS road course in 2023, scoring an 11th place finish and went on to improve on that result the following season by scoring his second-career top five finish. With a deep background in European road racing, the New Zealander is eager to take another step forward this weekend at one of the most iconic venues in motorsport.
On-track action begins Friday, May 9 with practice and qualifying, followed by the 85-lap Sonsio Grand Prix on Saturday, May 10 . The race will be broadcast live on FOX and SiriusXM (channel 218) at 4:30pm ET.
Meyer Shank Racing Driver Quotes:
Felix Rosenqvist: “Excited to be on home soil for the next three weeks. The Indy GP is a great way to kick things off before things get serious at the 500. It’s always nice to get back into the rhythm here at IMS and build momentum heading into the biggest race of the year. The team has been working hard, and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can do this weekend.”
Marcus Armstrong: “Looking forward to getting back on track. As Barber, Indy GP is a very European style track, something I’m used to. We’ve had a strong car here in the past so I hope we can have a good weekend from start to finish. The weather is always unpredictable here in Indy as well so let’s see what the conditions bring.”
