Thermal, Calif. (22 March 2025) – Meyer Shank Racing (MSR) will start the first ever points-paying race at the Thermal Club from seventh and ninth on the grid on Sunday (3:00pm ET, FOX, SiriusXM channel 218).
Team’s got a taste of Sunday’s race conditions during qualifying on Saturday, with ambient temperatures nearing 90°. Both Felix Rosenqvist – No. 60 SiriusXM Honda – and Marcus Armstrong – No. 66 SiriusXM / Root Insurance Honda kicked off a strong qualifying run in Group 1 with both team cars once again transferring into the Top 12 after posting the second and fourth fastest times.
Despite having the pace to transfer into the Firestone Fast Six, both Rosenqvist and Armstrong ran into traffic on their hot laps. Armstrong was just just shy of moving into the Firestone Fast Six and will start seventh on Sunday. Rosenqvist will start on the inside of the fifth row in ninth.
The Thermal Club INDYCAR Grand Prix will air on FOX starting at 3:00pm ET and with a green flag set for 3:17pm ET. IndyCar Radio will also host live flag-to-flag coverage on SiriusXM channel 218.
Meyer Shank Racing Driver Quotes:
Marcus Armstrong: “The car is super quick, I’m really disappointed that we did not make it through there. I got impeded by another car on the first run. But, with P7 we can do some good stuff tomorrow. I feel like Meyer Shank Racing really has the car hooked up so let’s go for gold.”
Felix Rosenqvist: “It was a good recovery from practice. I had a good Q1, I had a little bit of a messy Q2 with traffic on our out lap and then traffic on my second lap, so not ideal. We are overall pretty good on the red tires, and on the black we are hopefully good in the long run.”
