LEXINGTON, Ohio (5 July 2025) – For the eleventh time in the year’s first 10 NTT INDYCAR SERIES events, a Meyer Shank Racing (MSR) machine will start a race in the top 10 after Marcus Armstrong (No. 66 Spectrum Honda) took the eighth spot in the field for Sunday’s Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio.

Armstrong claimed his third top 10 qualifying result in the last four races after a strong opening run earned him a spot in the Top 12 qualifying session. The New Zealand-born driver made his fastest trip around the 2.258-mile circuit on his final qualifying lap, stopping the clocks at 1:05.5469-second lap to secure P8 on Sunday’s grid.

Felix Rosenqvist (No. 60 SiriusXM Honda) was among a few drivers to start on Firestone alternates in Group 2. Following his stop for a second set of red-walled Firestone tires, Rosenqvist was on a flyer and posted a lap good enough to transfer to the Top 12. But traffic ahead hindered any improvement. He fell to eighth and was unable to move onward in qualifying.

Sunday’s 90-lap event around the 13-turn layout is slated to be another very warm weekend, with temperatures expected to top 90 degrees in Central Ohio. Pit strategies can play a big role at the track, where passing opportunities have been hard to come by on the narrow ribbon of asphalt.

Both MSR cars will have extra red-walled, softer Firestone tires at their disposal due to how qualifying shook out. The team should put them to use as they continue building on what has been one of, if not the, best seasons in its INDYCAR history.

Sunday’s Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio will air on FOX starting at 1 p.m. ET. SiriusXM will also host live IndyCar Radio coverage of all of the weekend’s sessions on Ch. 218.

Meyer Shank Racing Driver Quotes:

Felix Rosenqvist –“It’s a small track with a lot of cars. So, there are a lot of drivers that keep slowing down and trying to warm the tires. I was behind Schwartzman, and I kind of compromised my warm-up lap behind him. I got going, and then he slowed down again. I had to abort my second lap because I was just running into him. I probably could have planned it better, and I feel like we had a car good enough. So it’s unfortunate, but we’re not completely lost. We can still do something from where we’re starting.”

Marcus Armstrong: “P8 is not a disaster at all because anything can happen in an IndyCar race. It was a little bit disappointing. I felt like I kinda strung my lap together there, but was just not quite enough. It was just so tight, and I knew it would be like this. But that’s how it is in IndyCar, and in qualifying especially. P8 is okay and we can fight from there.”
