Armstrong qualifies the No. 66 Spectrum Honda 15th
Elkhart Lake, Wisc. (21 June 2025) – Felix Rosenqvist (No. 60 SiriusXM Honda) opened the second half of the 2025 NTT INDYCAR SERIES by putting Meyer Shank Racing (MSR) in the 12th spot on the starting grid for Sunday’s XPEL Grand Prix of Road America (1:30pm, FOX, SiriusXM Ch. 218).
Rosenqvist’s best lap of the day came in his first qualifying session as a hot afternoon in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin made the 4.048-mile Road America layout a challenge for those fighting for the day’s pole position.
The Swedish driver ran in the top two early in the Fast 12 qualifying, but slipped toward the cut line as the dozen drivers that advanced from Session 1 put on their softer, red-walled Firestone tires in search of quicker times. Rosenqvist built a strong lap on his last flying effort, but a wiggle in the long right-handed Carousel turn caused him to get out of the throttle and left him to place 12thwith a best lap of 1:45.4532 (137.031mph). The 12th-place result is the best for MSR at Road America in the last three seasons.
The Swedish driver earned his lone INDYCAR SERIES victory with a Road America win in 2020 and has three top tens in his sixth previous starts.
Marcus Armstrong (No. 66 Spectrum Honda) will start 15thafter posting a best time of 1:45.2288 (137.324mph) in the first qualifying session. Today’s effort marks the first time in Armstrong’s three career starts at the Elkhart Lake circuit that he has not started in the top 10.
Sunday’s 55-lap XPEL Grand Prix of Road America starts at 1:30pm ET and will be carried live on FOX. SiriusXM Radio will also carry live coverage of all sessions on IndyCar Radio, XM Ch. 218.
Meyer Shank Racing Driver Quotes:
Felix Rosenqvist: “I messed up my lap in the carousel and got loose. Unfortunately you lose a lot if you make a mistake there. It was pretty loose in the end and I just couldn’t put it together. It’s unfortunately because I think we have some pretty good speed. I think we’re good for tomorrow, luckily it’s a track where you can pass.”
Marcus Armstrong: “The lap was good from my side and I was happy with how it felt, but we were just missing a bit there. It’s unfortunate to not be any higher, but I think we will be fine tomorrow during the race.”
